- Identify stylistic devices used in a text, explain their effect (ethos, pathos or logos) and how they are used to convey the author's central claim or message.

In response to a historically significant speech, students will write an on-demand, rhetorical analysis essay on how the author uses rhetorical devices to persuade his/her audience (similar to the SAT essay).
